How to use: Preparation for work: - Clean the measuring surfaces and the guide. Use a cotton cloth for this. Do not use solvents or acids. - Check the zero position to do this, contact the measuring surfaces by turning only with the knob of the friction clutch. Then press and hold the button labeled ON / OFF ••• SET ”for approx. 2 seconds until the display is reset to zero. - Check that all buttons, switches, and displays are working properly.   Basic measuring methods: 1. Absolute measurement - Loosen the clamp. -Switch on the device by pressing the "ON" button. Select the measuring unit by pressing the "ABS / INC ••• UNIT" button for approx. 2 seconds. Each time the measurement result will be alternately displayed in inches or millimeters. The result in inches is described by the symbol "in" visible on the display screen. Press the "ABS / INC ••• UNIT" button until the "ABS" symbol is shown on the display. - Spread the measuring surfaces at a distance slightly greater than the measured object. - Then adjust the coarse by turning with the spindle knob, then continue tightening by turning the friction clutch knob. Stop tightening when the clutch engages. - Read the measurement result from the display. 2. Relative measurement The measuring principle is the same as that described above, but the relative measurement is used to compare two dimensions. - When pressing the "ABS / INC ••• UNIT" button, the indication will be reset and the display will show "INC". After re-measuring, you can read the difference in dimensions. The micrometer is equipped with a steel ball in a rubber mount that allows mounting on the measuring surface of the micrometer. It facilitates the measurement of elements within a small area. After its installation, the indication should be reset according to the procedure described above. Attention! It is recommended to mount the work piece or micrometer before starting the measurement. This will allow you to achieve the highest measurement accuracy. It is also recommended to carry out several measurements to obtain the arithmetic mean of the results.
